Wireless Networking

The invisibility and the uncertainty of RF propagation can make wireless LAN performance and network planning a complex task. Whether investing in a new 802.11ac WLAN network, migrating from a legacy 802.11 a/b/g/n WLAN network or using a mixed environment, proper planning keeps critical applications running at peak performance and sensitive data secure. CG3Tek offers a comprehensive set of professional services that cover the entire Wireless Networking implementation lifecycle including planning, design, site survey, installation, configuration, and security.

Warehouse and Factory

Warehouse installations are often difficult because of the very high ceilings and the clutter of the material in storage. As part of our site survey, we always determine the coverage area when the warehouse is fully stocked, since the material in storage can change the RF coverage and interfere with uniform coverage. For aisles, we determine if directional (patch) antennas on the wall shooting down the aisles may be necessary. We also may recommend the utilization of low-gain omni-directional antennas (such as dipoles) on the ceiling or units with integrated antennas; high gain omni-directional antennas tend to have more nulls. The higher the AP is mounted, the farther the signal must travel. Usage of pipe and electrical box mounting techniques to lower the AP (external and internal antenna models) so that it is closer to users may be necessary.
